About the farm:
Finca La Guaca plantation, located about 1700 meters above sea level, was once a place where native people buried their loved ones with belongings like cooking tools and sometimes gold. Years later, workers noticed flat areas in the ground and believed they might be “Guacas” or hidden burial treasures, though no gold was found—only holes left behind from their search. Much later, the Ureña family discovered that the true treasure of the land was its potential for growing high-quality coffee, which led Isabel to name the plantation La Guaca.
About the coffee:
This microlot undergoes a red honey process, a method where some of the coffee’s mucilage is left on the beans during drying, enhancing sweetness and body. The beans are carefully dried both on patios and raised beds to ensure even drying and to bring out the best flavors. This meticulous process results in a coffee with rich, balanced notes and a smooth mouthfeel. Perfect for espresso.
